The future by Thomas Hertog

Thomas Hertog is an internationally renowned Flemish cosmologist. He studied Natural Sciences at the KULeuven and got his doctors degree in Cambridge, under the watchful eye of Stephen Hawking. Since then, Thomas has worked at the university of California, CERN in Geneva and the university of Paris, all in the field of cosmology and the string theory.

Recently, Thomas returned to Belgium to revive the glorious tradition concerning cosmological research at the KULeuven. Along with a team of young scientists, he is trying to find the answers to the most important questions in theoretical cosmology.

At TEDxLeuven Thomas will describe the cosmic context of our world and indicate how a profound understanding of cosmology will be instructive to safeguard Mankind's future here on Earth or elsewhere.
