Dixie Dansercoer at TEDxLeuven

Dixie Dansercoer, who will be speaking at TEDx Leuven in March, has broken the world record of the longest non-motorized polar hike without provisioning.

47 year old Dansercoer and his partner Sam Deltour (27) underwent this ordeal within the framework of their cutting edge Antarctic ICE Expedition. In 74 days they managed to cover 5013 km in Eastern Antarctica, the last unexplored region on the planet.

One of the targets of the Antarctic ICE Expedition was to support educational programs promoting environmental awareness. In this context, Dansercoer will dedicate his TEDx talk to explaining the effects of climate change on the poles.
